enter at Tons of Rock 2022

Tons of Rock, tons of fun and tons of NFTs! Last week, we had the pleasure of introducing hundreds of music and art lovers to the enterverse at Norway's largest festival. Let’s take a look at the experience through the camera lens…

It’s been a wild week of spreading the word of enter, NFTs, and introducing new people to all the utilities Web3 can bring to people in the real world. enter is all about bringing creative people together, so what could be a better place to start our physical marketing than a festival that does exactly that?

Seeing that enter.audio and our previous enter.audio live streams have been more focused on the electronic genres of music, it may come as a surprise to some that we chose exactly Tons of Rock as our first big push in the real world. However, what fans are more dedicated and willing to support their bands than the rock and metal scene?

If anyone is to understand the concept of NFTs and giving power back to the creators through indefinite royalties payments and authenticating ownership transparently, rock enthusiasts are high on the list. Afterall, these fans follow their favourite bands through several countries to support them and keep memorabilia from every concert. Norway's largest festival with 80 000 dedicated fans attending is of course also a fantastic place to kick off our first enter x project. On a side note, it turns out that most of the enter team are old metal heads, so there's that...

But what does a Web3 project do at a physical event? For us, the most important part of attending physical events is showing real-world use-cases for NFTs and making them tangible for people to understand. After all, we’re all still very early in this space, and for a lot of people, NFTs are still a very diffuse concept. This is why we early on made a strategic decision to focus our marketing efforts on places where we can show that NFTs are more than just a strange digital concept where monkeys and rocks are all the rage.

At Tons of Rock, we got the honor of filling up a 100m2 tent with everything enter; Ranging from digital screens showcasing NFTs, a VR gallery offering visitors a full metaverse experience, our $NFTART lucky spinning wheel giving the audience easy access to their very first NFTs and enter merch, as well as a photo booth capturing festival memories on the blockchain.

Not to mention, we also had the immense pleasure of introducing the Tons of Rock audience to NFTs even before the festival opened it's doors, through our first official enter x project. On tonsofrocknft.com, you can now collect exclusive Tons of Rock NFTs, offering everything from digital posters to music videos, festival tickets, and other bonus material for a few of the lucky holders. We’re looking forward to continuing the collaboration and kickstarting Tons of Rock’s first digital fan club through NFT technology. You can read more about the collection here.

The guitar by Roger_Cadiz was a popular subject of conversation in the tent, as a perfect example of using the blockchain to authenticate ownerships of physical items. With the Tons of Rock NFT collection, festival-goers got the opportunity to grab a hold of the first tickets for next year's festival and pick up custom Tons of Rock t-shirts in the tent. The selfies taken with the photo booth stand will all be minted on enter, making sure that the memories will live on forever on the blockchain.

For a lot of the audience, visiting the enter-tent was their first experience with NFTs, and we were thrilled to showcase a broad variety of works from enter artists in multiple genres and settings.

The most popular attraction in the tent (next to the spinning wheel, of course!) was for sure the VR gallery custom built courtesy of Myownverse. Here, both seasoned metaverse veterans and a bunch of people who had never even touched a VR headset before got the chance to explore a huge exhibition filled with marvelous works from enter.art on the walls. In the gallery, there were also several easter eggs of fun activities for those who dared to stick around for a little while and figure out the kinks of navigating in a virtual space. Huge shout out to the Myownverse team for the build and setup!

This experience has been an absolute blast to be a part of, and we can't wait to continue our work connecting Web3 to the art, music, and festival scene through physical as well as digital events. We've met so many wonderful people, and this is for sure not the last festival we will be attending. We're looking forward to meeting more of the enter community out in the real world while welcoming new NFT enthusiasts in the enterverse.

So what have we learned from this journey?

1. You'd be surprised by how many that are already on the NFT band wagon and those who are not yet are slowly warming up with curiosity and excitement.
2. Focused work pays off in the end.
3. enter looks damn good on the big screens! 🔥🤘

A big thank you to Tons of Rock, and everyone who came by to spend time with us during the festival.

Lots of Love,
